About 4leggedIT
4leggedIT exists to make technology easier for animal rescues.
If you'd like the full backstory, it's here — but you don't need it to understand what we do or how we can help.
Read the origin story
4leggedIT exists to make technology easier for animal rescues — but it didn't start with technology. It started with fear.
It started with learning how quickly animals can change your life — and how hard it can be to support the people helping them.
For years, dogs were something to admire from a distance. That changed when family members reintroduced us to the joy, loyalty, and heart of dogs — especially Labrador Retrievers.
The love was instant. The challenge was space. Without a yard, owning a dog simply wasn't possible… yet.
That changed in 2023.
After moving into a new home with a yard, friends connected us with a Labrador breeder who happened to have three 12-week-old brothers still waiting for homes. One look at those big puppy eyes and the decision was made — all three came home together.
Sometimes the right decision isn't logical — it's obvious.
Six months later, their dad was listed for adoption. On December 31, 2023, the pack was complete.
Life with four large dogs quickly became an adventure. Daily trips to the dog park weren't optional — they were survival. Anyone who's raised puppies knows the "Raptor Age" is very real.
It was joyful, chaotic, exhausting — and grounding in the best way.
Where it all clicked
Spending more time around dogs naturally led to spending more time around rescues, fosters, and volunteers — people doing incredible work with limited time, limited resources, and far too many tools that didn't quite work together.
That's when everything clicked.
If technology could help one rescue stay organized, communicate more clearly, or reduce daily friction — why stop there?
Why not use it to support the people doing this work every single day?
With a background in IT and a growing passion for animal welfare, 4leggedIT was created to bring those two worlds together.
Not as a tech company selling solutions — but as a support system built around real rescue needs.
Why 4leggedIT exists
Rescues already do the hardest work there is.
They shouldn't also have to struggle with websites, forms, hosting, logins, or systems that are confusing, fragile, or expensive to maintain.
They shouldn't need a technical background to keep information current, apply for grants, onboard volunteers, or explain their work to the community.
Our mission is simple:
use technology to support rescues, fosters, and animal-focused organizations — so they can spend less time fighting systems and more time helping animals.
That means building and supporting:
- Clear, trustworthy websites
That reflect how rescues actually operate — not how software assumes they do
- Sustainable, easy-to-manage setups
So information doesn't disappear when a volunteer steps away
- Tools that fit real rescue workflows
Including fosters, medical records, applications, and public updates
- Technology that helps quietly in the background
Reducing friction without adding noise
"Because when technology works better, everyone — especially the animals — wins." 🐾
